The 2008 U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials are inching closer to the starting blocks. Research by archaeologist Dennis Jenkins (UO Museum of Natural and Cultural History) in the online edition of Science on April 3 drew stories by newspapers, radio outlets and television stations. The news was international within 15 minutes of a media embargo. Jenkins found human "droppings" in Oregon's Paisley Caves, and leading experts on human DNA determined the, er, poop came from people living 14,300 years ago.
