Bird’s eye view of Lorry I. Lokey Laboratories, which is located underneath the oval-shaped Science Green, a courtyard connecting Huestis (left) Streisinger (top left) and Deschutes (lower right) halls. These buildings lie at the east end of the Lorry I. Lokey Science Complex which includes 11 existing buildings. Lokey Laboratories is the first building completed in a new section called the Integrative Science Complex. The new Integrative Science Building will be located on the north side of Deschutes Hall. Lokey Laboratories cutaway view
Like opening the lid of a jewel box, this cutaway reveals the layout of Lorry I. Lokey Laboratories. In this case, the “jewels” within include more than 20 ultra-sensitive instruments that allow researchers to build machines on the scale of human cells or to create, atom by atom, materials and structures with novel properties.
