UO grad, professional dancer to talk about career, new dance project

EUGENE, Ore. -- (July 31, 2008) -- Tiffany Mills, founder of the Tiffany Mills dance company in New York, will talk about her most recent work, "Tomorrow's Legs," during a presentation at the University of Oregon on Monday, Aug. 4. The program will feature a video clip of the work. Mills is a graduate of the University of Oregon's Robert D. Clark Honors College.
The free public event will begin at 7 p.m. in 307 Chapman Hall, 990 E. 13th Avenue. The Honors College is sponsoring the event. For more information contact Therese Picado, communications coordinator, Robert D. Clark Honors College, 541-346-2442, picado@uoregon.edu.
Mills is collaborating with experimental theater artist Peter Petralia on" Tomorrow's Legs," which incorporates both dance and theater to tell the personal stories of the performers.
The finished work will premiere next year in New York. Mills also has worked with a number of contemporary composers, designers and filmmakers.
The Robert D. Clark Honors College, established in 1960, is the oldest four-year, public honors college in the nation. The college offers a small liberal arts education within a larger research institution. Curriculum includes interdisciplinary study and courses, capped at 25 students and taught by faculty renowned in their fields, a thesis in the student's field of study and access to faculty and fellow students in an intimate, enriched learning community.
