Opportunity for input during upcoming Department of Public Safety assessment
The campus community is invited to comment on UO public safety services throughout the month of May
The Department of Public Safety (DPS) at the University of Oregon is a member of the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA). IACLEA has recently been engaged by the university to conduct a management assessment of DPS through their Loaned Executive Management Assistance Program. Members of the assessment team are Oliver J. (OJ) Clark, Retired Chief of Police, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; Steven Healy, Chief of Police, Princeton University; and John King, Senior Director of Environmental and Public Safety, Tufts University. Several members of the team are also former presidents of IACLEA and are nationally recognized experts on campus policing.
The assessment team will be on campus Monday, May 12, and Tuesday, May 13, for an intensive meeting schedule with members of the University of Oregon and the extended Eugene community. There will be an opportunity from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., each day for interested individuals who are not already on the interview schedule to meet with team leader OJ Clark.
These one-hour sessions are informal, drop-in opportunities in the Coquille Room of the Erb Memorial Union. Individuals who cannot attend during these limited times are welcome to submit written comments to Colleen McKillip in DPS via email (mckillip@uoregon.edu) or through campus mail. Please submit your written comments by Friday, May 31 and they will be forwarded to the assessment team.
