UO Career Center hires alum to lead Portland alumni career services

PORTLAND, Ore. -- (Nov. 20, 2008) -- In the current economic downturn, University of Oregon alumni in Portland will have another resource as they map out career goals and hunt for employment opportunities.

The UO Career Center hired alumnus, Linda Williams Favero, as the assistant director, Alumni Career Services in Portland. She will help recent UO graduates initiate job searches, form professional connections and ready themselves for the Portland marketplace.

"We are thrilled to have Linda on board to offer career services to UO alumni in Portland, which is home to the largest concentration of UO alumni in the world," said Deb Chereck, director of UO Career Center.

There are more than 72,000 UO graduates living in Oregon, and more than 45 percent of them live in the Portland metro area.

Favero is a member of the UO Alumni Association Board of Directors. She has led marketing, training and coaching programs for 18 years in Portland-area law firms.

The UO Career Center provides career and employment resources and prepares students to successfully connect to the world of work. The focus for Favero will be to serve the needs of recent graduates; however, all alumni are welcome to contact her for an initial consultation.

The Portland office is located in the newly renovated White Stag Block at 70 NW Couch St.
