Free family day event to be held at UO Museum of Natural and Cultural History

Pacific Continental Bank Free Day: Family Detective Day to take place on Oct. 18

EUGENE, Ore. -- (Oct. 14, 2008) – The University of Oregon Museum of Natural and Cultural History and Pacific Continental Bank will host a Detective Family Day on Saturday, Oct. 18.

Visitors can sharpen their detective skills by using their senses to identify mystery objects related to Oregon’s past. Families can follow clues in a scavenger hunt to solve the mysteries of Oregon’s history and find out more about Oregon’s most dangerous predators. In addition, participants can explore the museum exhibit hall and create postcards about their discoveries.

Pacific Continental Bank Free Day: Family Detective Day will take place from noon to 4 p.m. at the museum, 1680 E. 15th Ave. Free admission is sponsored by Pacific Continental Bank. The museum will offer new memberships for half price on family day.

Museum hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays. Admission is $3 for adults; $2 for seniors and youths ages 17 and under and $8 for families (two adults and up to four youths). Museum members, university faculty and staff and students are admitted free. Admission is free for the public on Wednesdays.
