Frohnmayer reacts to track & field announcement

News that the world will keep watching Eugene, Springfield and the University of Oregon for years to come brought cheers and reaction, such as that of UO President Dave Frohnmayer (above). 

USA Track & Field and the U.S. Olympic Committee announced in December that Eugene will host the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field. The announcement was made at a press conference at the University of Oregon overlooking historic Hayward Field. This summer, Eugene will host the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field. It was also announced that the UO's Hayward Field will host the 2009 and 2011 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Read the press release from USA Track and Field here.
