Through the eyes of children
UO student Nick Blakey is working with children in the slums of Nairobi to depict victims and images of recent violence. Blakey studied in Nairobi fall term. During his time there, he taught photography to 10 Kenyan children in the slums. Since recent violence, Blakey has reconnected with his former students. It will take a massive public education effort for Florida and Michigan to implement last minute vote-by-mail democratic primaries, says Priscilla Southwell, the associate dean of social sciences in the University of Oregon's College of Arts and Sciences. Southwell, also a professor of political science, has extensively studied Oregon's vote-by-mail program for a decade.
