UO law professor Garrett Epps won the Frances Fuller Victor Award for General Nonfiction in the 2007 Oregon Book Awards. Epps won for his "Democracy Reborn: The Fourteenth Amendment and the Fight for Equal Rights in Post-Civil War America," which a judge described as “smart, stylish, dramatic, probing, vivid, and moral.”
