School of Journalism and Communication/New Venture Championship
- Participation in the NVC
- Students in the School of Journalism and Communication sharpen their skills, network, and enhance their portfolios while working on the New Venture Championship in many different capacities.
- How it Works
Every year since 2003, the school has offered an advanced advertising class called New Venture Campaigns in which advertising students collaborate with students in the Lundquist College of Business who are planning to enter the competition. Each advertising team creates a media plan for its business team, designs logos for the team's company, creates ads and develops promotional events.
Allen Hall Advertising (AHA), and Allen Hall Public Relations (AHPR), both student-run agencies in the school, serve real clients and also work with the entire New Venture Championship as a client.
Allen Hall Advertising creates the ad campaign for the NVC event each year, including a media kit, program brochures and print ads targeting both students and businesses. Allen Hall Public Relations plays a key role, both in preparation and at the event itself. The agency provides media materials for the event and manages media relations.
