ASUO Street Fair, Spring 2008

Held each year in May and October, the Associated Students of the University of Oregon (ASUO) hosts a Street Fair -- three days of locally made crafts; booths selling imported clothing and decor; fabulous international cuisine served on paper plates; and the campus community gathered along East 13th Avenue and up the steps of Johnson Hall for food and conversation.

UO's Dennis Jenkins' discovery in Oregon caves attracts a media frenzy

Research by archaeologist Dennis Jenkins (UO Museum of Natural and Cultural History) in the online edition of Science on April 3 drew stories by newspapers, radio outlets and television stations. The news was international within 15 minutes of a media embargo. Jenkins found human "droppings" in Oregon's Paisley Caves, and leading experts on human DNA determined the, er, poop came from people living 14,300 years ago.
