Naito Parkway repairs

Water main repairs lead to discovery of a privy -- and much more
Dishes found at Naito Parkway site
They were just fixing a water main, but state highway workers uncovered more -- a privy -- and called in archaeologists from the UO Museum of Natural and Cultural History. Recovered from the site (shown in the photo below) were a variety of artifacts (above) that dated and identified the location part of a 19th century boarding house and single-family households.
