Spotlight on Education
Special Office of Communications feature package opens a few windows on the University of Oregon's highly ranked College of Education, featuring videos with Dean Bullis and three stories
The College of Education at the University of Oregon is year after year recognized as one of the best in the nation and its programs attract the highest percentage of the university's federal research funding. This special "Spotlight on Education" section is designed to give the public a glancing look at what makes the college so special. Here's what you will find:
- Four videos featuring Michael Bullis, dean of the college, speaking on why he thinks the college is repeatedly ranked so high nationally, about the college's state and national impact, its research and outreach and why students considering teaching careers should come to the UO.
- A profile on Christopher Murray, a faculty member who studies relationships between teachers and students in inner-city schools, mostly Chicago. His focus is on finding ways to keep kids in school, especially minority students with disabilities.
- Recent work by the college's Hedco Professor Marilyn Nippold, who studies language and communication problems of students and how interventions may be enhanced.
- What a recent grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention means to a family intervention program led by Elizabeth Stormshak in the Portland area.
