UO E-clips, Dec. 31

Top story for December 31, 2008: Ducks roll in second half to put down the Cowboys, reports The Oregonian

'Different' Ducks finish with a win (The Oregonian): Trailing No. 13 Oklahoma State 17-7 with its offense sputtering and defense struggling, Oregon went into halftime of the Holiday Bowl in danger of falling into old patterns. Would the Ducks again finish as they did in losing four consecutive bowl games before breaking through in last year's Sun Bowl? Would this be another poor-closing Oregon team? The answer was an emphatic no. The 15th-ranked Ducks (10-3) came out with a dominant performance in the second half, outscoring Oklahoma State 35-14 on their way to a 42-31 victory Tuesday night before 59,106 at Qualcomm Stadium.

Bob Doppelt in 2008 Roger Hamilton in 2008

Bob Doppelt and Roger Hamilton of the UO Climate Leadership Initiative went on video to talk about the recently released report featuring climate-change projections for Oregon's Rogue River Basin. Visit our VIDEO PAGE where -- in six videos -- Doppelt talks separately about planning and policy implications, and Hamilton speaks on overall impacts facing the basin, how agriculture, particularly pinot noir production, may be threatened, what may happen to the region's vegetation, and how salmon may be affected.
